Page holder...thing

I made this loose page holder in like an hour this afternoon, while listening to Vlogbrothers videos on youtube. (They are very funny if you don't know who they are.)
Anyway, I used hot glue to attach the pieces of felt together.
Isn't a pretty button? And that button is just over the button hole, because I have somehow lost all of my needles and thread: probably because my sister is coming for the holidays and I have moved a lot of my stuff to the garage.
Most of the pages are painted with a half paint, half water mixture, that make the page nice and thick and rough enough to use calligraphy ink on.
Though I know it is deplorable, I used a really mangled copy of Harry Potter 5, that I found in the middle of the road out side of my apartment.

I painted some pages, and used fancy edge scissors to make the edges rough looking. I scraped the paint off of the word 'magical' because I did intend to use the pages for spells or another BOS.
Here is the whole thing. It's made from four small rectangular pieces of felt, and then four smaller rectangular pieces of felt - the clasps on the front.

Tell me what you think. :)

Medicine Bag

I decided to make a medicine bag. I've had several little "velvet" bags that are just perfect for medicine bags.

Inside the bag is: a quartz crystal, an agate stone, a small gold star, a small silver crescent moon, a small sea shell, a crystalized rock, a small jar of herbs (which smell great, by the way) and a braid.
The quartz=clear thought, agate=protection, star=the pentacle, the moon=goddess, sea shell=water, rock=earth, herbs=nice smell (I like things that smell nice) and the braid is a representation of me (yellow string), the mysterious (black string), and the divine (white string).
I plan on adding a fortune spell during the eclipse this Saturday.
Blessed Be. )0(

Graduation Dinosaur

I made this little dinosaur for my friend who will be graduating soon. He has a cap and diploma, tied with a ribbon.

He's smiling, because he has just graduated Dinosaur school.
He's blue and white, the colors of the school that my friend is graduating from.

Tell me what you think,
Blessed Be!

(P.S. This Saturday around 5:30 am on the Western side of America, there will be a total Lunar eclipse! I'm excited to Honor the Goddess, I'll probably make chocolate Mexican wedding cookies.)

Calligraphy Pen

Today, I bought a calligraphy pen and ink, because I've always wanted a fancy pen set thing. And I hope to use it for some spells or scrolls, but I have to find some really good paper so the ink doesn't sink through to the other side of the page.

Desk Gargoyle

I made this cute little polymer clay gargoyle. I mixed black and white clay to make a marbled grey. I used little black seed beads for his eyes.
I added little red spines on his back and tail.
He keeps watch over my desk and the mess that is covering it.

Mjolnir Pendant

I made this Mjolnir pendant (Thor's Hammer) today, it took me about fifteen minutes to shape and carve out the symbols with a tooth pick.
The picture doesn't do it justice, but I mixed black and white clay to make it look like marbled stone. After I baked the clay, I painted the symbols in with gold paint.
Tell me what you think.

Fairy light

I've been thinking about making something like this for a while.
I took a wall scent warmer from a popular soap and candle store (most commonly found in malls)
And a small LED twist on light from a craft store.

The LED light was too wide to fit through the opening of the scent bottle, so I had to tape the light to it. I might redo it with hot glue as a connector.

Isn't it pretty?! And while the tape is not very nice to look at, I could string the light up and not be afraid of it falling and breaking.
I'd like to try this with a few more colors and different types of light sources.

Polymer Clay worry stone

I made this blue and white swirly worry stone this afternoon, for no particular reason. I made the indentation smooth, by dragging my thumb over the clay before I cooked it; so it smoothed out the ridges of my thumb-print.
I used a nail file to rub away any other finger prints and then I polished it a little more just by rubbing the "stone" on the knee of my jeans.

Book of Mirrors, Lunar Journal

A Book of mirrors is a not oft talked about personal journal, used to track your progress in magick and life. http://awitchylife.wordpress.com/2011/06/07/book-of-mirrors-and-the-magic-of-writing/
This is a cool blog-post, that goes into a little more detail about Books of Mirrors.

(I guess it's going to have to be a side-ways picture!)
This is the cover of a canvas cover journal that I bought at a major craft store chain for about $10. It will be my Book of Mirrors/Lunar Journal.
On the spine I painted a full and new moon, as well as two Celtic knots, in silver bordered by gold-the colors of the Goddess and God.
I'm thinking about making a purple felt pen slot on the side, so I can take my journal with me if I ever go anywhere.

This is the cover page of my journal, I don't know if you can read it, I used a stencil so it would have fancy letters. Again I used silver surrounded by gold, you can't really see it, but the gold ink is kind of glittery, it's very pretty.
The Lunar Journal part of the Book of Mirrors, is a journal of your magickal workings during different moon phases-this is done so you can see when you are your most powerful; so you can perform important spells and have better results.

Care of Magical Creatures

I've been filling a drawing journal with...drawings; of magickal creatures, or creatures with maigickal properties. (i.e. the raven and owl)
Tell me what you think.
*The owl-wisdom, clear sightedness, element of air
 *The raven- mystery, death, changes
The Frog- land and water, duality
The Stag- element earth, pride, strength
Gretchen, The Beer Stein Fairy- this was just for laughs, like the green fairy associated with Absinth. But, you know fairies can be connected with anything, and beer is made from plant materials.
(I kind of just wanted to draw a fairy wearing a dirndl)

Hope you liked them.

Wednesday Addams doll

I made this doll in, like two hours, for a Wednesday Addams costume, I might wear for my anime/gamer club.
I had to tie the doll head to the body by her hair, which is dark blue because I didn't have any black. I used felt for the body and dress, and I stuffed it with an old tee-shirt.

Polymer clay Scarecrow

I made this scare crow guy about two years ago; I've gotten a little better since then, but I like him. I made little yellow snakes of straw coming out of his gloves and boots. The corn is my favorite part.
Tell me what you think. ^,^

Polymer Clay Ghost

I used white, orange and dark green polymer clay; and black seed beads for the eyes. I had to put a small ball of clay on his butt so he would stay upright. I used a "scalpel," thing to cut out their smiles, and mark the grooves on the pumpkin.
I need to cook him a little more because we ran out of foil; here's a little tip: wax paper should not be used when cooking polymer clay, it makes a lot of smoke and it smells very bad.
This is a better shot of the Jack O'Lantern face.

Tell me what you think.

Halloween Costumes

Today, I got a catalog from a party store. In it, were costumes for children, kids, teens and adults. I expect the costumes for adult women and teenage girls to be slutty, I did not expect the costumes for the little girls to be so slutty. Almost all of the costumes for the girls ages 8-13, have super-short skirts and high heeled shoes! Now, I don't have any kids, but I wonder what kind of parent would let their little girl dress like a whore?! And what's even worse, everyday clothes for little girls are getting slutty, shorter skirts, no sleeves, flip-flops with heels and glitter! And I know it is kind of hard to find, not slutty costumes; but it isn't very hard to make non-slutty costumes....or at least make your tween to teenage daughter wait until she's 16/17 to start dressing like a hooker! (Just my opinion, I guess)

Another quick thing, also about costumes. Why is it that costumes for adults are either completely slutty or completely stupid?
"So my choices for Halloween costume are sexy nun, or a ketchup bottle?"
Some of the title of these costumes are equal to porn titles; for example:
Referee = Racy referee, girl scout = Don't touch my cookie, pilot = Mile high captain, Mario = Perky plumber, alien = Lust in space, SWAT officer = Sultry SWAT officer, and my favorite - Pocahontas = Pocahottie....and the list goes on with sexy this, babe that. Come on people! Halloween shouldn't be about having indiscriminate sex with a person because they're wearing a mask. Halloween should be a day of fun and a night of memories.

Attraction

I just came to a startling realization, while watching a Stonesour music video...I am attracted to men who look like human depictions of the "Devil." You know, long black hair, pointy beard/mustache, dark eyes pale skin. (The drummer of Stonesour, in their video "Say you'll haunt me," looks exactly like some artists rendition of Satan.) Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'm attracted to evil, but I guess there's just something sexily likeable about the "bad-guys." (Joker, Dracula, Darken Rahl, etc.)
Or maybe it's some sort of weird rebellion because I want to challenge my Christian family, I don't know!
But one thing is for sure...I would love to have a goth boyfriend! Or this guy...

Ohhh, leather gloves.
(I'm sorry if I just creeped you all out. I will understand if you want to stop following me)

A Hag Stone

Look everyone! I found a Hag Stone in my front yard this evening as I went to get pizza for dinner! I'm super glad I found this, because I wanted a small one to carry with me. (I have a huge one that I found on the beach, but it weighs as much as a kitten!) I've tied it with some black string and a bone bead, onto my back-pack.

Start with a jug of apple juice, pour into a large pot.

Apple juice and Mulling spice bought at a large, low price, chain store.
Apple juice and Mulling spice bought at a large, low price, chain store.
1/3 cup of spices in cotton cloth.
Tied with twisty tie.
Burned by stove top flame, because I am stupid. (This was the first time I ever set fire to something in the kitchen)
Let the Steeping begin.
Steeping rig, made by my mom.
I added two cinnamon apple tea bags because it smelled/tasted kind of gross.
I burned my thumb pouring this back into the bottle. But it tasted good, and would make a good television/movie scotch or bourbon replacement. (It looks good in a glass, like real hard liquor!)(I had to do this in caption, I can make it do regular beside the picture words)

Familiars?

(I Know Witches Do Not Worship The Devil. I Practice Witchcraft)

I was watching a documentary on the Salem Witch Trials, and they were saying something about "The Witches Teat." Which is some sort of mole or mark that the devil puts on a witch so that she can feed her familiar.
I know this is all a load of crap. But it made me think; did Christianity create much of the modern themes of Witchcraft? Or did the concept of familiars exist before the Burning Times?
And I know this would be almost impossible to figure out because the only people who knew how to read or write were either rich or priests.
I would really like to know. And does anyone else have any sort of witch concept that may have been created by Christians?
Just curious. :)

Polymer Clay Mouse

http://www.folksy.com/items/1247541   I was asked by my aunt to make one of these for her mouse collection. I used clay for all of the parts, even the eyes; which are small beads in the original mouse.

Updates

Hey, I haven't posted anything in a while. I've been busy with friends and I started college last Monday. I hope to start making a few things in the coming weeks. Maybe find a recipe for Mabon and maybe make a clay jack 'o lantern for Samhain. I'll try to keep up to date and add things as I do them.

Facing The Darkness

Earlier this week, I read a blog post from another Witch. She was saying that she doesn't like be labeled as Wiccan, because she casts dark spells; i.e. vengeance spells, hexes and curses. And while I have been tempted to use dark magick, I feel that it wouldn't be right for me. Like it might be the best form of magick for some people, but I feel that healing and protection spells are the thing for me. I guess it varies from Witch to Witch.
But people say that magick is neutral and the darkness and light are the human aspects of spells. And the darkness is stronger in some people. And I know that the darkness is strong in me, because I'm tempted to use dark magick sometimes.
Tell me what you think about using dark spells.
And I'm not going to lie, if my mom ever found my BOS and saw that I had a curse or hex in there, I wouldn't be able to pass Wicca off as a nice, non-violent religion. (She might even send me off to a Catholic church camp!, it's scary because I'm not Catholic)

Book Of Fortunes

I got this book for $1 at Michael's about a year ago. I was going to use it for a BOS, and I still might, it's pretty thick. But I've decided to use the first half of the book for collecting fortunes from fortune cookies.
You can't really see the fortunes, because of the scotch tape I used to tape them to the paper. I think I might start writing the date of the fortune next to it. I want to fill the first half of the book, but it might take a while because I rarely eat Chinese food.
